Report: Woman Shoots Man Assaulting Her Inside Moving Vehicle In South Carolina

ANDERSON COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was shot by a woman as he attempted to assault her inside a moving vehicle in Piedmont.

Anderson County Sheriff’s officials stated the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon, January 3rd on Fire Tower Road, according to WYFF.

The suspect, identified as John Stephen Boyd, was traveling with the woman when an altercation took place between the two. Boyd allegedly began assaulting the woman and then produced a weapon. The woman then shot Boyd.

Boyd was transported to a hospital for treatment and then booked into the Anderson County Detention Center on a charge of first-degree domestic violence. Sheriff’s officials are calling the shooting a self-defense act.
