Armed Girlfriend And Boyfriend Open Fire On 3 Robbery Suspects, 1 Dead

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — A woman was approached by three robbers in her driveway around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, and she quickly drew her gun and fired, killing one of the suspects.

Her boyfriend, who was inside the home at the time, ran outside and gave chase to the other two suspects, also firing at them. The pair got away, and police are still trying to identify them.

“Obviously we’re trying to identify this deceased individual here at the scene,” Sgt. Jason Brown said. “We’re hoping that the identification of him will lead us to the other two individuals who were with him at the time of the attempted robbery.”

I was hesitant to cover this story, because police believe that the incident may have been drug related. The couple were both taken into custody for questioning and are said to be cooperating with police. So far, police do not believe they will face charges in regards to the shooting.

They still have the right to self-defense, but if it turns out that they were on the wrong side of the law with drugs, I have a hard time defending them. If that’s the case, to a certain degree, they welcomed this to happen.

We also have the chasing of suspects by the boyfriend, with shots fired in their direction as they fled, which is a big no-no in the self-defense world.

I’ll try to keep up to date with any additional outcomes.
