CREOLA, ALABAMA — Wow.

Deputies said Frank Reeves got into a gun battle inside the home with a man he thought was an intruder, but investigators said that man, Michael Amacker, is Tracy Reeves’s boyfriend.

Supposedly, Amacker had been living at the home undetected by the husband for an entire year. Police confirmed the story, stating that Amacker limited his trips to the bathroom. They found multiple bottles filled with urine inside the room he was staying in.

Sunday night is when things went down after the husband found who he thought was an intruder inside the home.

Investigators said both men shot each other. Frank was hit in the chest. Amacker was shot in the leg and elbow, and both were taken to the hospital.

Amacker is being charged with attempted murder, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Amacker and Tracy were both high on meth at the time, according to police.

I feel bad for the husband, but at the same time wonder how someone can live inside your home for an entire year without being detected. It isn’t fair to pretend to understand the circumstances, I guess, but it’s still a valid question that I’ll likely ponder at least a few more days.
