UPDATE: At Least 7 Dead, 12 Injured In Mass Shooting At San Jose Light Rail Yard

Update @ 2:03 pm EST: NBC News is reporting at least 7 killed and 12 Injured in the mass shooting.

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA — Police say a suspect is dead after shooting and killing multiple people at a Valley Transportation Authority light rail yard in San Jose early Wednesday morning at 101 Younger Avenue. The exact number of fatalities and injuries has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Several calls to 911 came in around 6:30 am local time to report an active shooter situation at the rail yard, “which is a VTA hub that stores trains and serves as a maintenance yard not too far from the sheriff’s office.”

Deputy Russel Davis spoke with reporters during a press release, announcing that deputies arrived to the scene to find multiple injuries and casualties, but could not yet confirm any numbers. Davis confirmed that the suspect is deceased, but would not go into details about how the suspect died. Davis confirmed that the suspect is a male.
