LAS VEGAS, NV — A man lost his life after threatening an entire family who had stopped what they were doing to help him , reports KSNV.
The soon-to-be deceased man was in dire need of assistance, but then he was all too happy to turn the help he received into a frightening — and ultimately fatal — encounter.
The entire story is as bizarre as they come. Take a look at the report given by KSNV:
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Alonzo Wimberly. His official cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner was ruled a homicide. According to witnesses, police said a man was either hanging on or getting dragged by a black truck headed west on Alexander.
A family passing by tried to alert the truck as they witnessed the man asking for help. The truck stopped, and the man with road burn gained access to the back of the family’s SUV, where two teens and a baby where in the car. The father, who had a gun, started to hit the man on the head, asking him to leave. After he unsuccessfully removed the man from the SUV, the father fired shots at the man. The man was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Police are calling the father a Good Samaritan. They do not believe he will be facing charges at this point.
That’s exactly what he is: a Good Samaritan who was targeted for no other reason than helping someone who he believed to be in serious need.
There is a lot of controversy surrounding cases in which carriers employ defensive force by their vehicles. However, when it comes to defending your family, it doesn’t matter where you are.
You take the attacker’s threat away from him.
