FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA — A man visiting a gun show was in his car trying to clear his firearm, and wound up with a bullet in his leg.
The man, 55-year-old Anthony McKee, drove to the front door of the Crown Expo Center and received help from off-duty deputies who were working at the event.
What McKee experienced was a negligent discharge.
A negligent discharge is something that occurs when the person handling the firearm ceases to use their brain, even if for a split second. If you’ve been following our site for a while, you know that we regularly put gun owners on blast for incidents like these.
Why? Because they’re 100% avoidable.
We wish McKee a speedy recovery, and hope that he pays better attention if he is to ever handle a firearm again.
