WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON — In the early hours of Friday morning, Wenatchee Police launched an investigation into a shooting incident on South Wenatchee Avenue. A 50-year-old local man suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen after a homeowner, alleging an attempted break-in, shot him.

The victim’s injuries, while serious, were not considered life-threatening, and he was hospitalized at Confluence Health Hospital Central Campus.

With ongoing investigations, Police Sergeant Nathan Hahn emphasized the complexity of the case, noting the homeowner’s right to self-defense but also the current lack of conclusive evidence. The authorities have not yet filed charges and are open to public assistance in gathering more information.
