HOLYOKE, MASSACHUSETTS — An infant has tragically passed away after being delivered prematurely when its mother, a pregnant woman, was shot on a bus in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The distressing incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maple Street and Sargeant Street intersection. Authorities reported multiple injuries from the incident and urged the public to steer clear of the site.
The pregnant woman is said to be in critical condition.
Three male suspects are believed to be involved in the incident, with one bullet tragically striking the pregnant woman onboard the public bus. Following the shooting, she was rushed to the hospital in a critical state. Despite medical efforts, the baby did not survive after delivery.
Every life lost to gun violence is a tragedy, especially those taken far, far too soon.
