FL Man Flashes Gun At Family During Parking Spot Dispute; Police

COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA — A dispute over a parking spot at the Coastland Center Mall on Friday led to the arrest of 24-year-old Dawson Farrell from Naples. Reportedly, Farrell brandished a firearm towards a woman and her two children, prompting her to seek out law enforcement.

Farrell was later located in the mall’s parking lot in his red Mercedes. Although initially no weapon was discovered on his person, officers found a gun on his car’s passenger seat.

He admitted to revealing his firearm during the altercation, claiming he felt harassed. However, he denied pointing it at the woman.

Farrell wasn’t adhering to the new concealed carry law that would only take effect beginning July 1st, 2023.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and is currently held at the Naples Jail Center.
