Amazon Employee Shoots Gunman Who Wounded Co-Worker Outside Arizona Facility

CHANDLER, ARIZONA — The suspect in the shooting of an Amazon employee outside an Arizona Amazon facility is dead after he was shot by another employee.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, according to MSN.

The incident occurred at an Amazon Flex facility, located in Chandler. According to Chandler Police sergeant Jason McClimans, the suspect, identified as 29 year old Jason Murphy, began firing at a contract worker outside the facility. Another employee returned fire at Murphy. Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim shot by Murphy was transported in life-threatening condition to an area hospital.

Murphy was not an Amazon employee and a motive for the shooting has yet to be established.

Police say that it us also yet to be determined if Murphy was killed by the employee who shot at him or if he took his own life.

Police have said the employee who returned fire is cooperating with them as the case remains under investigation. No other persons were injured in the shooting.
