3 Friends Brutally Murdered On Fishing Trip In The Middle Of Florida, And No Suspects

FROSTPROOF, FLORIDA — Three men agreed to meet up for a fishing trip, and none of them would leave the trip alive. What happened to them last week during the nighttime trip remains a mystery, and the reward for information leading to those responsible has jumped to $30,000 as of Monday night.

The murders are described as brutal, and have shaken the small community to it’s core.

Brandon Rollins, 27, Keven Springfield, 30, and Damion Tillman, 23, appeared to have been beaten and shot to death near a lake in a rural area, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

“You’ve got three best friends … what is more wholesome than going fishing near Frostproof on a Friday night?” Judd asked during a press conference Monday. “It’s orange groves, cow pastures and a beautiful lake.”

Judd said investigators believe Damion arrived first to the lake in his truck and was murdered by one or more individuals.

The suspect or suspects were in the process of murdering Tillman when investigators believe Rollins and Springfield arrived in another vehicle and were immediately “shot up.”

Rollins was able to call his father after being attacked to say ‘help.’ His father jumped in his vehicle and headed for the lake, where he was able to speak with his son before he died. The information that he shared to his father is not being released at this time.

Police do not suspect anything illegal, such as a drug deal gone bad or a domestic dispute.

“We are going to work nonstop until there’s absolutely nothing left to do,” Sheriff Judd said. “We’ve only had like two unsolved homicides in the last 11 years. My best guess is we solve it. I believe it. But solving it later is not acceptable. We need to solve it now.”

No information has been released that would suggest any of the victims were armed themselves.

This is a developing story.
