Huh.
A police officer was attending a wedding at a Kentucky church when the unthinkable happened: he shot his own mother.
Luckily, she survived and is said to be in stable condition. But what happened?
The officer, 32-year-old Cory Golightly, was adjusting his jacket when his firearm fell onto the ground. During the fall, and even being inside a holster, the firearm discharged.
The firearm was a .38 caliber revolver, and must have hit the ground just right for it to go off like it did.
The only thing that I’ll say about this incident is this: You should know your carry setup inside and out. If you make a certain move, you should know what your firearm will do in response to that move. There is no margin of error while carrying.
