Armed Intruder Breaks Into TX Home While Family Was Eating Breakfast, Didn’t Have Time To Eat Last Meal Before Homeowner Shot And Killed Him

Three home intruders, two still on the loose, broke through the front door of a home in Texas early this morning while a family was eating breakfast in their kitchen. At least one intruder was armed with a rifle and at the moment of the break-in, one family member went to retrieve a gun of their own.

Shots were exchanged with the intruder who had the rifle. None of the family members were injured, but the robber was hit once and killed.

Family members told deputies that their mother was in the kitchen cooking breakfast with three young granddaughters when the armed men broke in. The woman’s adult son heard the commotion from his bedroom and grabbed his gun.

“… and when he heard ‘please don’t hurt the girls,’ that’s when he took action,” deputies said.

The other two suspects took off into the woods, then apparently to a getaway vehicle, and has not yet been captured. No description of the suspects was released, only making mention that they were speaking Spanish to each other.

This is a perfect example of why we advocate carrying even while inside your home. After all, 100% of home break-ins happen inside the home.
