Tired Of Break-Ins, This Store Owner Waited For The Burglars. Armed.

Published

BATESVILLE, MS — One Batesville store owner was just totally sick of break-ins at his business and so he decided to wait on the invaders one early morning earlier this month.

Oh, and he did so armed.

As Fox 13 reports:

When two broke into his store early Wednesday morning, he shot one of them as the burglary suspect reached for a gun.

Batesville Assistant Police Chief Kerry Pittman told FOX13 Ferris Cole, the owner of Cole’s Sundry Grocery store, shot one of the burglars who was armed with a gun. He broke into the store through a vent-a-hood. Cole shot the teen in the ear.

Both burglars are 17 years old and both being charged with burglary and petit larceny.

That would be the first time that I have ever heard of “petit” larceny, but there you have it.

This is the perfect case of an individual refusing to be a victim. This man refused to have his life completely run by hoodlums, and he did something something about it.

Anyone can wait out and catch burglars on their property in the act, if they know when they’re coming. A responsibly-armed citizen can do something about it.

There’s no telling how old this grocery store owner was, but however old he was, it is likely that he would have had trouble overpowering two teen thugs.

Score one, equalizer.
