MDA And Bloomberg Now Target Kroger Supermarket Chain Because Of Old OCT Photo

Open Carry Texas has stirred up the Mom’s before, but this time they’ve done it nearly a year after the fact. Since the photo above was taken and published back in 2013 (notice the date at the top of the image), the group has changed the ways that they demonstrate.

However, that doesn’t matter to Mom’s Demand Action. All they need is a photo and deep pockets. They are now targeting the supermarket chain Kroger to try and get them to commit to a ‘no guns policy’.

And as we’ve seen in the past, their tactics have worked:

In recent months, Chipotle, Starbucks, TargetSonic, Chili’s, Jack In The Box and others have enacted no-gun policies.

These policies stop short of outright bans, but each company has announced that guns are no longer welcome in stores.

On Friday, a spokesman for the chain released the following statement:

“Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don’t want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally carrying a gun,” Dailey said. “We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores.”

During the campaign, MDA referenced a few incidents that have happened over the years on Kroger property, such as an incident where a woman shot and killed her husband and then killed herself. Another incident referenced was about a man who opened fire in a store and shot two people.

I find it idiotic to think that a ‘no guns policy’ would have stopped any of these from happening. But what do I know.
