CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (2-minute read) — A Chicago CCL holder shot three men who attacked him outside his home on the Northwest Side, resulting in all parties being hospitalized in critical condition. The incident took place in the 4700 block of West Wrightwood Street. According to the Chicago Police Department, the 43-year-old homeowner was outside when an altercation erupted with three known individuals, who then began to attack him.

The situation escalated quickly as the homeowner, exercising his rights as a Concealed Carry License (CCL) holder, used his firearm in self-defense. A 29-year-old attacker sustained five gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Another attacker, aged 22, was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, also in critical condition. A third attacker, 55 years old, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was likewise hospitalized in critical condition.
