Report: Man Shot By NYC MTA Worker Was Furious He Didn’t Get a Fist-Bump

NEW YORK, NEW YORK — A man was shot and put into critical condition after allegedly becoming enraged that he was blown off when he offered a fist bump, according to reports.

Renaldo Gurrier, 39, was allegedly near a train this past month when he offered a fist-bump to one of a pair of Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) workers, according to the New York Post.

For whatever reason, the worker declined.

Gurrier then allegedly followed the pair of workers onto a train, threatening to “beat them up.”

According to NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper, the two got off at a nearby station in hopes of diffusing the situation.

Gurrier then reportedly came after the armed employee, even though he was warned multiple times. He was shot in the chest.

According to his sometime boss, Danny Argentina, erratic behavior like this isn’t unheard-of for Gurrier.

“Everything’s a problem with that guy,” Argentina said according to the New York Post.

“[He] got stabbed 20 times, beat up dozens of times, he got shot once,” he said.

Um, OK.

We don’t presume people guilty in this country before proven so in a court of law. If Gurrier did what has been alleged against him, however, this may be the dumbest pretext for an attack I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been writing about crime off-and-on for seven years.

Let’s hope, should he recover and he really be in the wrong, that this is a wake-up moment for the man.
