GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — On Tuesday morning, gunfire broke out between a battery store employee and an armed robber at Batteries+ located on 2709 Battleground Avenue in Greensboro.
The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. as the store manager was opening the store. The robber, armed with a revolver and on foot, confronted the manager, demanding money. Successfully fleeing with $900, the suspect and the manager exchanged gunshots during the confrontation.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.
The Greensboro Police Department is actively investigating the situation.
If yyou’re in charge of opening a store, or closing, it’s important to make certain that you’re continuously scanning the area around you. Better yet, try to find someone who can accompany you. Whatever the case, make sure that your situational awareness is top notch.
