Woman Shot While Reportedly Attempting To Break Into Home

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — On Thursday night, a Lincoln Park resident, licensed to carry a concealed weapon, fired at a female who was reportedly attempting to unlawfully enter his home.

Police arrived at a residence on North Clybourn’s 2200 block at around 10:35 p.m. The female, suffering from bullet wounds to her chest and right wrist, was discovered at the scene, as per the police report. She was promptly transported to the Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

The resident informed the police that he had shot at the female to stop her from breaching his home, as per the law enforcement report. A firearm was found on the premises.

No additional information was made available immediately.
