Armed Seattle Man Shot After Breaking Into His Ex-Girlfriend’s Apartment

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot while attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

The incident occurred Sunday, November 20th at around 10:30 am in the 9400 block of Rainier Avenue South. The suspect, a 39-year-old male, forced his way into the ex-girlfriend’s apartment. The suspect was armed with a handgun and began shooting once he gained entry.

A 19-year-old male inside the apartment returned fire, hitting the suspect. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The suspect will be transferred to the King County Jail once he is released from hospital care. No other persons were injured. The case remains under investigation by Seattle PD’s Domestic Violence Unit.
