Father in CA shoots home intruder who turned out to be his daughter’s ex-boyfriend

A father in California acted in self defense when his daughter’s ex-boyfriend broke into his home and hid in his garage. His intentions are still unclear, but it seems that he was there to do harm to the father.

At 2:24 a.m., the ex-boyfriend, Raiveon Wooden, 18, of Chino, allegedly broke into the man’s home in the 2800 block of Brookside Drive and hid in the garage, police said. The man apparently became aware that someone was inside his garage, so he armed himself with a handgun before taking a look.

When the father entered the garage, he was stabbed multiple times by Wooden. Still, the father then fired at Wooden and hit him multiple times. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The ex-boyfriend is expected to face attempted murder and burglary charges once released from the hospital.

We know that we can’t always choose who our daughters go out with, but we can choose to arm ourselves against the never-ending amount of crazies out there. Luckily for this man, he was able to do just that and probably saved his life that night.
