Security Guard Shoots Suspected Shoplifter In Both Legs After Confrontation And Knife Attack

Published

BORDEAUX, TENNESSEE — When you bring a knife to a gunfight, bad things usually happen to the one with the knife.

Although in this case, an armed security guard was also injured as a result of a knife-wielding shoplifter during a confrontation.

Metro Nashville police responded to Walgreens, 3130 Clarksville Pike, at 4 a.m. after a reported shooting. They say a security guard got into an altercation with a man after he attempted to leave with items.

The security guard shot the alleged shoplifter in both legs and the security guard suffered a cut to the wrist after the man pulled out a knife.

It’s scary stuff when someone pulls out a knife, but we’re glad to hear that the security guard was treated for his injuries.

The alleged shoplifter was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Being shot in both legs, he’s lucky that a major artery wasn’t clipped. If that were the case, it could have been a matter of minutes until he bled out.
