Ruger American New Shooter Academy Season 2: Episode 5

Published

Kyle trains with the son, Nick, in episode 5, and they start with the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. After reviewing the safety rules and learning the proper adjustment to his stance, Nick is tasked with shooting to the close paper target. It’s clear he has had some practice, as he starts off with a close group.

Nick moves on up to the Ruger PC Carbine 9mm rifle and shoots another great group to the far steel target. He looks ready to take on some competition with the adults!

What were Kyle’s takeaway tips? Let’s take a look:

  • Have a good, stable stance when shooting a handgun or rifle.
  • Always put the safety back on when you finish shooting.
  • Have a good sight picture before you squeeze the trigger.
