ROANOKE, VA — A private sale of a motorcycle suddenly went wrong when it turned out that the juvenile hoping to get the bike didn’t have money — just a gun.

Unfortunately for him, he was up against an armed seller, and the punk kid got exactly what he asked for.

As WSET reports:

Roanoke Police said officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 12th Street, SW and Salem Avenue in Roanoke around 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 18. When they got there, police said they found a juvenile who had been shot in the neck.

Police said officers spoke with John Billett, 47, at the scene, who told them he had made arrangements online to meet with Rodnicka Richardson, 20, to sell a motorcycle. During their meeting, Billett said Richardson was joined by Khalil Graves, 20, and the juvenile.

When he asked for payment before giving Richardson the motorcycle’s papers, the juvenile pulled out a gun and demanded the motorcycle. Billett, who was armed, shot the juvenile in the neck.

Roanoke Fire-EMS took the juvenile to the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Richardson and Graves were arrested and charged with robbery and taken to the Roanoke City Jail.

If you’re anything like me, folks, you love a good deal — especially when it comes to big-ticket items like cars, boats, or even firearms.

That often leads to classifieds browsing and buying. Using classifieds is a great method for making deals, but classifieds are often also seen as an easy vehicle to bilk people out of money and property.

Go to meet-ups in public places, and do so armed. Don’t compromise on either. If you can, being a friend with you, too.

Your life might depend on it.
