Range Time With Walther’s PPQ M2 SC [SHOT Show 2018 Range Day]

When Walther dropped the news about their new PPQ M2 Sub-Compact as attendees were flying into Las Vegas for the SHOT Show, it immediately became a must-try gun at range day for anyone interested in concealed carry. Walther is known for equipping their comfortable, reliable handguns with some of the best triggers on the market.

The good news: the PPQ SC doesn’t disappoint. Putting lead on target at Range Day was a snap with the SC’s world class production bangswitch. The PPQ SC is a must-try for anyone looking for their first (or a new) everyday carry pistol.

The SC is being offered with a flush mount 10-round mag and an extended 15-rounder (pictured). MSRP is $649. Here’s their press release . . .

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Walther Arms, Inc. is proud to announce the newest member of the PPQ family, the PPQ M2 Sub-Compact (part number – 2815249).

The new Sub-Compact features the signature Walther ergonomics plus the fantastic Quick Defense trigger, which has a 5.6 pound trigger pull and smooth audible resets. For maximum versatility, the PPQ SC comes with one ten round magazine, and one fifteen round magazine.

The included fifteen round magazine has a grip extension sleeve that provides control and ergonomics similar to the full-size PPQ. This will increase accuracy downrange while offering the advantages of a versatile carry/training platform.

The PPQ SC also features replaceable backstraps in both small and large sizes. The overall length is 6.6” and has an empty magazine weight of 21.2 ounces.

The 9mm Luger barrel is 3.5” long and features polygonal rifling with 1:10” twist. The slidefeatures front and rear serrations for easy manipulation and is outfitted with polymer 3 dottarget sights. The rear sight is adjustable for windage.

Like all PPQ’s the slide stop lever is ambidextrous and the magazine release button caneasily change sides for left handed shooters. The PPQ SC is backed by Walther’s lifetime warranty and dedication to technical expertise.

The new PPQ Sub Compact will begin shipping immediately. There are also several accessories available for the new SC, a 10 round flush fitting magazine, a 10 round magazine with finger extension, and a 15 round sub-compact magazine with grip extension sleeve.
