18-Year-Old Shot In Head After Trying To Enter Home

Published

ARKANSAS — Being an 18-year-old is tough. You know, you have your whole life ahead of you to think about. There’s school, college, which job do I want to do. Girls, saving money, getting out of the parent’s house. So many things to consider.

Being an 18-year-old thug is a lot tougher, because you can end up shot for your straight-up stupidity.

Local news reports on this incident;

Pine Bluff police officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of West 29th Street around 5:15 a.m., spokesman Lt. David De Foor said. They found an 18-year-old man shot once in the head, he said.

The teen was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where he is in critical condition, according to the spokesman.

After an initial investigation, police believe the teen was trying to enter the residence, and the homeowner shot him, De Foor said. The homeowner was questioned by police then released pending the outcome of a full investigation.

Dumb comes in all shapes, colors and ages. This teen apparently thought he could make a quick buck by robbing a home, but he apparently didn’t count on the intended target to be armed… and good enough for a head shot.

I’m not making light of the situation, because it’s a damn sad thing to see a teen shot in the head, but he had it coming to him if he did indeed try and break into this home uninvited.

Some young folks are simply lost in life, or a product of their surroundings. Hopefully, this young man will make a full recovery and then make some serious life style changes. If it happens again, he may not make it out alive. If he doesn’t figure this out, then he’s doomed for failure his entire life.

Let’s hope he makes the right choices.
