DALLAS, TEXAS — A man pulled into a parking space to enjoy legendary fast food from Whataburger when two thugs attempted to rob him. It might have seemed like a pretty safe bet at 1 a.m. for the two robbers in question but it turned out this man was a concealed carrier — and this is Texas.
According to Dallas Police and Fox News, the concealed carrier shot and killed one of the armed robbers and the police were able to identify and apprehend the second robber.
Dallas police confirmed that the robber who had been shot and killed did have a pistol on his person. Because this is Texas, that second robber is going to be in for a rough ride since his partner got killed. As some may not know, a criminal can be charged with the killing of his partner in the commission of a violent felony.
The biggest shame to come out of this story is it’s entirely likely the concealed carrier probably got some special sauce on his shirt. Additionally, it may take a few weeks to find out where all those onion rings disappeared off to in between the center console.
This is precisely how a defensive gun use situation should end if the robbers in question aren’t smart enough to take a hint. And, it’s a great reminder to the lot of us that even though we have both hands full with a mouth-watering Whataburger, we need to be ready and carry in the car.
