Daughter Calls Father To Say Intruders Are In The Home, Dad Comes Rushing Home, Armed, And Takes Care Of Business

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — A daughter home alone called her father in a panic after three men broke into the home.

When police arrived at the scene, they found 18-year-old Imani Smith lying on the ground with a gunshot to his thigh. That’s because the father of the daughter rushed home and unluckily for the intruders, he was armed and ready to defend his daughter and his home.

The father chased the three intruders out into the backyard and at one point, he told police he thought one of the men was going to pull out a gun.

That’s when the father fired.

“While in the backyard, he said he believed Smith was trying to pull a gun out on him and the homeowner said that’s when he fired multiple shots at Smith. One of the shots hit Smith in the thigh,” police said in a news release.

There aren’t many forces in this world greater than a father protecting his family, and this is one of those cases where it’s tough to fault him for running inside toward the danger. After all, he had a daughter to protect and a few thugs to weed out.
