MINERVA, OHIO — A 33-year-old man chose the wrong house to break into early Saturday morning, and he paid the ultimate price for his bad decisions.

According to the Sheriff, the man was attempting to break into a house, and was shot by the homeowner, 63-year-old William Dietrick Jr.

The suspect was shot once in the chest and took off, but collapsed a short distance away in a neighboring yard. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.

This shooting is under investigation, as all shooting are, but it looks to be a clear-cut case of self-defense.
