TRENTON, NEW JERSEY — A man was shot in the thigh after breaking into a woman’s home Tuesday night. Police later find out that the two knew each other.

Jermoine Morris, 35, was shot by a woman after he allegedly tried breaking into her home. In an act of self-defense, the woman fired a shot and struck Morris in the thigh. Once shot, Morris took off and was later picked up by police.

He was taken to the hospital and treated for his gunshot wound. Police interviewed him and determined that he was the one who broke into the residence, and that Morris and the woman were once in a relationship.
