77-Year-Old Florida Resident Defends Home And Self Against Two Intruders, Killing One And Injuring Another

REDLAND, FLORIDA — On May 18th, just after noon, an elderly man of 77 was forced to defend himself when two yet unidentified male suspects allegedly invaded his home. One intruder was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene after police arrived. The other was also shot in the chest, but later upgraded from critical condition to stable condition at Kendall Regional Hospital.

Interviewed neighbors stated there had been a string of recent burglaries in that area, and everyone was aware of them. They hope this incident would put an end to the string of burglaries. That very well could be the case, considering the actions of this elderly man exercising his Second Amendment right to bear arms, and defended his home against the intruders.

This is a perfect example of how important it is to be prepared to defend one’s self, even within the safety of your home. An attempted intrusion or burglary can happen at any time, not just in the late hours of night. As you can see, these men attempted to burglarize this elderly man’s home in the afternoon in broad daylight. This can prove how important it can be to practice active self-defense and home carry; as an attempted burglary –or worse– can happen at any time.
