A Friend Gets A Gun As A Gift, But She’s Unsafe With It: What Do You Do?

A reader sent us a message not too long ago and had some concerns with a friend. Her friend, we’ll call her Sarah, was gifted a firearm and is … not as safe as she should be. Sarah is, well, take a look:

I was wondering if you could offer me some advice. I have a friend-ish that was recently gifted a .22lr. She is very young and does not use any proper firearm safety steps. She is often posting pictures of her new “toy” with her finger on the trigger. Posting videos of her and her boyfriend during range time acting like goofs and horse playing. There are SO many more examples but you get the idea. Quiet frankly it scares the crap out me. How do I talk to someone that clearly doesn’t respect their tool? I don’t want to be a jerk but I fear for her and anyone she is carrying around. How do I convince this girl that she NEEDS to take a firearm safety class?!? Thank you in advance.

With this new knowledge, how would you handle a situation like this?
