Please Please Please Carry Your Firearm At Home

Your life can change –or end– in a matter of seconds. Call it a freak encounter or whatever you’d like, it’ll never change the fact that it occurred. For anyone to sit there and say “Something like this could never happen to me,” you are sadly mistaken.

Two Florida residents, a mother and daughter, were brutally murdered inside their home during a chance encounter with four armed and wanted men after they wound up at the home during a crime spree and police chase.

These men were on the run after robbing a pawn shop, and became trapped inside the residential development they happened upon during the chase. Abandoning their vehicle, they burst inside the home of 51-year-old Deborah Royal, and her mother 72-year-old Patricia Moran.

As police were setting up a perimeter around the home they believed the men went into, a vehicle came right through the garage door. Police fired at the vehicle before it quickly crashed.

Before the men tried to get away by ramming the garage door, they brutally murdered the two women inside their home. The women were simply inside their own home, and had no warning as to what was about to happen.

Here is a list of the suspects. May they be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

  • Devonere “Devon” McCune, DOB 3/2/1992, of Haines City – first suspect arrested, PCSO K-9 apprehension
  • Michael Gordon, DOB 2/15/1980, of Lakeland – second suspect arrested, shot at 618 Astor Rd and K-9 bit
  • Jovan Lamb, DOB 4/25/1985, of Haines City – arrested around 8:30 a.m. in Haines City
  • Terrell Williams, DOB 3/5/1985, of Haines City – arrested shortly after 9 a.m.

Folks, disgusting animals are around us, and it takes just a few seconds for them to involve the innocent people of this world. Please, do not put your firearm away after you come home from a long day of work. Keep it on your hip.
