Trial Starts For Texas Man Who Allegedly Executes Drunk Driver After The Driver Killed His Two Children

Back in 2012, 32-year-old David Barajas ran out of gas while driving with his two sons aged 12 and 11. The three were pushing the vehicle down the road when a 20-year-old drunk driver, Jose Banda hit their vehicle, killing the two children.

Barajas then took the law into his own hands. He quickly went to his home to retrieve a firearm and then shot Banda in the head, killing him.

That’s one side of the story. Here’s the other side:

Cindy Barajas said her husband is innocent.

“The fact that they’re sitting there trying to say that he did something he didn’t do … He was sitting there trying to revive my sons,” she said.

Barajas has pleaded not guilty and says he didn’t shoot anybody. The case features many complexities. Police never found the gun. The defense says there were no witnesses to the shooting.

So, it’s now up to a jury to decide the fate of Mr. Barajas. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

The conversation on a news channel’s Facebook page has some interesting comments on this trial, with many saying that they would have done the same thing if they were Barajas. What are your thoughts?
