This Could Be The First Photo Of Someone Legally Open Carrying A Firearm In DC In 70 Years

And there are likely more to come. This photo is making the rounds and shows a gentleman standing in DC, out in public, open carrying a pistol.

If you don’t have any idea what we’re talking about, a judge ruled DC’s ban on carrying a firearm outside of the home unconstitutional just a few days ago. Then, a crazy turn of events happened yesterday when the Police Chief told her officers not to arrest anyone carrying a legal firearm, regardless if they’re from DC or any other state. This is effectively full reciprocity.

While it seems technically legal to carry in DC at the moment, we’re going to go on record with advising that you don’t do it just yet. The District has requested a stay and until this goes through the courts, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

One thing is for sure, the crime in DC is dropping by the hour.
