Ohio Car Dealer: Buy A Car, Get A Gun

A car dealership in Ohio has a new policy in place: Spend at least $4,995 on a car and get a gun. I’ve heard enough…SOLD!

Buyers don’t actually walk out with a gun, but they do get a voucher for a local Gander Mountain store and can buy whatever they’d like (which includes a gun). Obviously, the buyer would still be required to go through the normal background check (slow down, Mom’s).

Business owners Jerry and Diane Kilgore started the Great Gun Giveaway about two weeks ago at their lots in Eaton and Brookville, Ohio, and plan to continue it indefinitely.

“I’d heard of a few places across the country that have done similar things,” said Jerry Kilgore. He has a background in marketing and saw great potential in the promotion.

“Honestly, if I was giving away a flat-screen TV or an iPad, you wouldn’t even be here,” he said.

The business owners stated that their traffic has seen a 100% increase and are getting calls from numerous locations.

Now here’s the kicker: When someone actually buys a gun with the voucher, the car dealer will also give that person a gift certificate for the 12-hour concealed carry training course in order to receive their Ohio permit.

So awesome.
